Terence J. Shepherd

Terry Shepherd has advised small and medium-sized, family owned/closely held businesses in the areas of business development and bottom line performance for over 30 years.  In his consultation work, he has helped his clients set strategies, identify and measure critical success factors, lead business owner and management performance meetings, conducted team and customer surveys and facilitated both team and customer advisory boards.

His particular business area of expertise are in strategic planning, customer service strategies and team development. On the individual owner side, he has worked extensively on their estate planning strategies.

He is a founding partner and managing partner of Shepherd & Goldstein, a regional full service certified public accounting and business development consulting firm. Founded to do more than provide clients with compliance-oriented services, Shepherd & Goldstein provides a special set of management services that not only help each business client operate more effectively and efficiently, but also allows the team to be an integral part of clients’ growth and success.

Terry is a Principal in ROCG Shepherd & Goldstein Consulting Group LLC which is an international professional service and consulting firm with offices throughout North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.  ROCG is the only international firm specializing in the areas of business transition strategy, finance and operations for privately owned and emerging growth enterprises.

Terry is also a regular speaker on business transition, business strategy and development and customer service strategies.  In addition, he has authored numerous articles on business transition, business development, finance and accounting issues. His writings have appeared in the CPA Review, the Business Digest of Central Massachusetts and Business Worcester. He also had a monthly bi-line in the Cape Cod Business Journal and currently writes features for Cape Business Magazine as well as The Worcester Business Journal. In 2008 Terry completed writing a white paper for ROCG Americas, The Increased Risk of Incurring Catastrophic Losses And What You Can Do To Avoid Them.

Following a personal tragedy, Terry helped found Why Me, Inc., a Worcester based charitable organization that provides emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families.  He is a graduate of Bentley College, Summa Cum Laude, with a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters of Science in Taxation.  Terry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Terry has achieved his "Certified Merger & Acquistion Advisor®" (CM&AA) and is a member of The Alliance of Merger & Acquistion Advisors®.
