Setting a pattern
We started our firm in 1980 committed to offering more than just basic compliance services. We were determined to enhance our clients’ lives, both professionally and personally. We also recognized the need for accounting firms to offer better service, to be more proactive and provide a positive experience throughout the engagement process, not just concentrate on the end delivery. That’s where we began our fanatical focus on customer service.
Growth and More Growth
Word got out about our customer-service excellence and our value as a full-service accounting and business consultant. As we grew, our client portfolio expanded to include businesses across a wide variety of industries.
Client referrals propelled our growth and it also enabled us to expand in 1989 with the opening of our second office on Cape Cod. Our expansion continued in later years with new acquisitions and new office openings in Framingham and Milford.
In 1997, S&G formally established the Business Development Consulting Division. This strategic enhancement reaffirmed our Day One commitment to better our clients’ lives by going beyond basic accounting and compliance services and general consulting services. We were then positioned to offer a wide breadth of high level consulting services to ensure we became our clients’ overall business advisor. Our sights were set on strategic revenue growth, increasing profitability, customer service strategies and team building and alignment.
Expanded Wealth Management Capabilities
With the Milford merger, S&G expanded its range of wealth management services and established SG Wealth Management Group; leveraging the support and expertise of a top 20 independent broker dealer that specializes in working with tax and accounting professionals.
A Business Consultant with a True Strategic Focus
To further our expertise offerings to meet our clients’ ever changing business needs, in 2005 S&G, through it’s new division-ROCG ~ Shepherd & Goldstein Consulting Group LLC became a founding partner in ROCG , an international consulting organization. With partners in both the US and Canada and affiliations in Australia and Europe, we were then able to offer an international perspective.
ROCG’s sole focus is on the delivery of strategic business solutions to small- and medium-sized business/family-owned enterprises specializing in business transition, business exit services, and value growth planning.
With a diverse partnership group, that regularly meets to share new ideas and best practices, our team members can access the latest thinking in strategic planning, process improvement and implementation, consulting best practices and methodologies, and business performance optimization. This knowledge has proven invaluable in enhancing our team’s ability to help our clients successfully identify and then achieve their business’ objectives and goals.
Which Brings Us to Today…
From an initial staff of six accountants we have grown to become a highly diversified team of skilled accounting, consulting, management, and wealth management experts with various professional designations and advance degrees awarded including MST, CPA, MBA, Esq., CM&AA, EA, CFP and CFS.
